Crypto Conference at ITU
Digital privacy is threatened by commercial as well as governmental surveillance. The Crypto Conference at ITU is a student-driven initiative about data collection, digital privacy, and regaining control of your privacy online.
In addition to a number of talks by inspiring speakers, the conference will be an ongoing cryptoparty, where you can get hands-on tools for controlling your digital privacy.

The speakers
Peter Kofod: Governmenal Surveillance
Peter is a Danish journalist and activist deeply engaged in inter-state surveillance, and was the first Dane who interviewed Edward Snowden. He has recently made headlines in the press by uncovering a story about an American airplane waiting to catch Mr. Snowden if he travelled from Moscow.
Pernille Tranberg: Personal Data Harvest
A journalist who now acts as a dataethics consultant. She is co-founder of DataEthics.eu and a board member of the London-based charity organization CitizenTrust. In 2012, she wrote the bestseller "Fake It" about big data and digital self-defense.
David Simonsen: WAYF
Manager of the Danish company WAYF - Where Are You From (at DeIC). David is a board member of Rådet for Digital Sikkerhed, the Kalmar2 steering committee, and was previously a member of the Danish government's national IT board. David has participated in the public debate on IT and security infrastructure since 2000.
Irina Shklovski: Data leakage
As an Associate Professor at ITU, Irina works on several projects ranging from issues of privacy and identity to investigating the role of technology in disaster situations. She is interested in how people use technologies to cope with adverse circumstances, to maintain their social relationships, and to navigate and interact in urban spaces.
Hanno Böck: TLS - the most important cryptographic protocol on the internet
Hanno is a freelance journalist who lives in Copenhagen and writes for the newspaper taz, Zeit Online, the IT newspage Golem.de and others. He has a deep technical understanding of the internet's cryptographic infrastructure.
Henrik Kramshøj: Digital Privacy
Henrik is a so-called internet samurai, he turns and twists the internet, till it does as he pleases. He masters a huge amount of tools for encryption and loves to share them. With these tools you will be able to take back the control of who can see your data. He will demonstrate how to use these tools for digital self defense, such as text encryption, email encryption and how to avoid logging on the internet.
Martin Von Haller: EU Regulation of Data
Martin is one of the leading IT-lawyers, with more than 20 years of experience. He advises Danish as well as international companies about the legal and commercial relations within the IT industry. He is a pioneer within e-commerce, IT-security, Open Source and free license formats like Creative Commons.
